Drawing Model Airplane Plans using a Plastic Kit

Ever heard of someone taking a plastic display model (e.g. Monogram or Testors), and from that drawing their own rc airplane plans and building a scale masterpiece? How on earth is that done? Well, in small steps. Part of the challenge is transferring the 3D information from the model shape onto a 2D plan. This can be done readily using a Contour Gauge.
